Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Vocab.AI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Vocab.AI is a vocabulary learning application that helps users discover, learn, and practice new words. The App provides:

Word discovery and definitions
Personal word bank management
Practice and learning tracking
Streak and progress monitoring
AI-powered word enrichment and pronunciation features
Push notifications for reminders (optional)

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

User Accounts

Account Creation

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Account Security

Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
Upload malicious code or content
Impersonate another person or entity
Use automated systems to access the App without permission
Add derogatory, offensive, discriminatory, or hateful words to your word bank
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription Required

Vocab.AI requires a paid subscription (monthly or yearly) to use
Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store
Prices are displayed in the App before purchase

Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial upon signing up
You will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel
Only one free trial per user/account

Billing

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid charges
Manage subscriptions through your device's app store settings

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple App Store
Contact Apple for refund inquiries

Intellectual Property

Our Content

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by us
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission

User Content

You retain ownership of words and content you add to the App
By using the App, you grant us a license to process your content to provide the service

Third-Party Content

AI-generated content is provided by OpenAI
We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party content

AI Features

The App uses artificial intelligence for:

Word definitions and enrichment
Pronunciation audio generation
Speech-to-text transcription
Usage validation

AI Disclaimer

AI-generated content may not always be accurate
AI features are provided "as is" without warranty
You should verify important information independently

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.

"As Is" Basis

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
Defects will be corrected
The App is free of viruses or harmful components
The results from using the App will meet your requirements

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights

Termination

By You

You may stop using the App at any time. To delete your account, contact us or use the account deletion feature in the App.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including if you violate these Terms.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

Your right to use the App ceases immediately
We may delete your account and data
Sections that should survive termination will remain in effect

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

Posting updated Terms in the App
Updating the "Last Updated" date

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

If negotiation fails, binding arbitration

You agree to waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits against us.

Severability
